For Early Childhood Teachers, one of issues is to teach children who need additional supports without ISS Funding or waiting to obtain funding. It is not easy to teach with 1:11 ratio when there is no extra hand for these children who definitely need one on one support in the classroom.

The proposed actions will improve career pathways, including through streamlining the process for Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher (HALT) accreditation, and providing better professional support for teachers to retain them in the profession.

New Early Childhood Teachers do need support as they just graduate from school, and the responsibilities are very different from what they did during placement. Support is important for new teachers and the size of room and ratio are other two reasons which cause low retention in teaching industry especially in early childhood.
