Need for schoarships that pay for university fees and give mentoring and permanent employment for new teachers in regional, rural and remote locations

The actions proposed will be effective in increasing the number of students entering ITE, number of students completing ITE and the number of teachers staying in and/or returning to the profession.

Need for sponsorship, mentorship and wiping HECS for teachers in regional, rural and remote locations. Permeant employment should be guaranteed in these areas.

Teachers have an excessive workload. They need more time to teach and prepare lessons. Administration, data collection should be supported by funding trained ancillary school support staff. Teachers need more support around informed and evidence based teaching strategies and programs.

Higher wages, more resources and to teach and plan me and lesser workloads will attract future teacher
Better career pathways to support and retain teachers in the profession
The proposed actions will improve career pathways, including through streamlining the process for Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher (HALT) accreditation, and providing better professional support for teachers to retain them in the profession.
