The way the profession is reflected throughout society is integral for the future success of the industry. A targeted campaign is an excellent idea, however those views should be designed with the consultation of professionals, unions or a academics within the education sector. This would help strengthen the design of the ‘advertisements’ as well as the credibility and validity of them.
Is there a way to better represent the successes within schools and with teachers to further elevate the profession? Often in news and media outlets, schools and teachers can be highly targeted in negative reviews but there are still many successes. This should be able to be more easily shared with the public.
Improving teacher supply
The actions proposed will be effective in increasing the number of students entering ITE, number of students completing ITE and the number of teachers staying in and/or returning to the profession.

The bursaries are a good idea -however they do not ensure a long career. Is there a way this could be given over a period of time to ensure teachers stay in the profession longer than the first year?
Can student teachers/pre service teachers be paid for the last or longest placement at schools (sometimes up to 8/9 weeks). This would ensure that and mid-career professionals would not consider placemat as burdensome when trying to decide if continuing the existing career or transitioning to one in teaching.
Strengthening Initial Teacher Education (ITE)
The actions proposed will ensure initial teacher education supports teacher supply and quality.

Paid internships and placement are fundaméntele if attracting mid career professionals transitioning into teaching.
Also, government initiatives such as work-while-you-study, such as allocating current teaching and education students with work as classroom support officers, would ensure sufficient exposure to actual educational, teaching and learning experiences as well as excellent insights to school operations and strategies prior to placement or employment.
Confidence and experience of skills and knowledge alleviates any scepticism when transitioning into a different field of expertise such as teaching. It would also offer more targeted professionals in the sso arena
Maximising the time to teach
The actions proposed will improve retention and free up teachers to focus on teaching and collaboration.

Offer teacher aide support roles which assists in the paperwork of class work teaching.
Also, there is an increased need for students with additional support (for a range of reasons), resulting in additional and individualised support. Maybe by reducing class sizes this would alleviate some of the pressures classroom teachers face when designing a positive learning experience for all students. (Assuming there is an increase in teacher employability).

Better career pathways to support and retain teachers in the profession
The proposed actions will improve career pathways, including through streamlining the process for Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher (HALT) accreditation, and providing better professional support for teachers to retain them in the profession.
