How is this going to be done when you are trying to change peoples values - what specific actions not words on a piece of paper but real actions.
Improving teacher supply
The actions proposed will be effective in increasing the number of students entering ITE, number of students completing ITE and the number of teachers staying in and/or returning to the profession.

Must make increased salaries a priority. This must keep up with inflation rate NOT always behind.
Be proactive in making teaching a financial viable course - make it free but have a strong application process where applicants must be able to demonstrate practical ability. Lots of would be teachers have the academics but hopeless classroom management skills.
Too many unis have very low practium standards and just want the money.

The proposed actions will improve career pathways, including through streamlining the process for Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher (HALT) accreditation, and providing better professional support for teachers to retain them in the profession.

Whilst the AITSL Standards are commendable and great for teacher review and reflection, who monitors the monitors?
Again the narrative spin has hardly mentioned these HALT people. I believe I'm one of them and even I wouldn't know about the accreditation process. Where are those people. Are they getting better pay? Celebrated?
