Strongly agree

Would you like to provide feedback about these actions?

The notion that teachers only work 9-3pm and then enjoy 10 weeks holiday needs to be addressed as untrue. The vital role of the development of children into productive adults needs to be recognised by the community as a challenging, diverse and demanding role.

The day to day activities and tasks of a teacher has changed hugely over the past 25 years. It has not improved teaching, but made it a far more onerous vocation.

Better understanding future teacher workforce needs

Moderately effective

Consult and listen to the advice given by actual teachers still engaged in the profession. The teachers that are in the classroom every day, not academics, senior Principals and politicians need their opinions heard and acted upon.

Better career pathways to support and retain teachers in the profession

The proposed actions will improve career pathways, including through streamlining the process for Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher (HALT) accreditation, and providing better professional support for teachers to retain them in the profession.
