About the grant

The limited supply grant provided funding to approved providers to set up new ECEC services in areas of need. It is now closed.

The new services had to be either:

  • Centre Based Day Care
  • Family Day Care.

The new services had to be established in an area:

  • experiencing disadvantage in regional and remote parts of Australia
  • where there is no or limited access to ECEC.

The grant aimed to:

  • increase the number of children accessing ECEC in regional and remote communities
  • help providers to build capacity and operate sustainably in these communities
  • enable local workforce participation in these communities by increasing access to ECEC.

The grant is part of the Community Child Care Fund which helps services address barriers to ECEC participation.
