Post-study work rights have been extended for international graduates from 1 July 2023 across more than 3,000 courses in Australia, including those in early childhood education and care.

Post-study work rights have been extended for international students studying a:

  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, from 2 years to 4 years
  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education in a regional location, from 2 years to 5 years
  • Masters of Teaching Early Childhood, from 3 years to 5 years
  • Masters of Teaching Early Childhood in a regional location, from 3 years to 6 years.

Read the list of all courses where extended post-study work rights apply on our website.

The extensions are linked to workforce shortages in particular sectors. They enable international students to be able to apply and work for longer in Australia.
