What inspired you to study a teaching degree?
During my secondary education, my aspiration to pursue a teaching degree was motivated by several factors. I was inspired by the educators who provided invaluable support with academic challenges, offered guidance, and encouraged my growth. Additionally, subjects such as music captivated my interest, and I desired to deepen my knowledge and share it with others. Furthermore, I was driven by a commitment to assist students in reaching their full potential and achieving their goals.
How do you think the scholarship you have received will help you achieve your goals?
Not only does my scholarship provide me with the essentials I need for my studies, but it pushes me to move forward and achieve my goals required to become a teacher in the public system.
Is there a past teacher who inspired you or who you have positive memories of and why?
During my senior years of secondary school, I had the privilege of being taught by a new music teacher who was far more than just an instructor. He genuinely cared for his students, supported their aspirations, and made their dreams his top priority. His dedication and commitment left a lasting impact on me, and from that moment, I knew I wanted to follow in his footsteps and embody the same passion and care in my teaching career.
What are the qualities that you think makes a good teacher?
I think my confidence, initiative and ability to adapt are the main qualities that make me a good teacher. Through the creative arts, I have developed these qualities which have been very helpful especially during my first placement as a pre-service teacher. My experience with placement allowed me to lean into these qualities and I am looking forward to learning how to use these qualities as I progress through my university degree.
What are you looking forward to most about being a teacher?
I am looking forward to getting to know the students a little more and through my abilities and teachings, support them towards achieving their dreams.
What has been the best advice you’ve received while studying teaching?
Teach by being yourself and you will connect with students better than ever.

It is the best way to extend your studies and inspire others through your passion of the subject.
