teaching could be undertaken in a Trade / Apprenticeship model where the students are allocated a school per year (or per Term) and attend 2-3 days per week at a school and 1-2 days per week at university. This would give them the opportunity to be immersed in the profession and perhaps undertake some of the administrative tasks relieving the teachers.

The actions proposed will ensure initial teacher education supports teacher supply and quality.

Moderately effective

I think there needs to be a move to encourage Year10 students who want to do a Trade or join the workforce to leave school. Only those going on to university should stay on to Year 11 and Year 12. This would allow an increase in workforce and less teachers would be needed.
The future classrooms in secondary should look more like an early childhood classroom full of student-centred small groupwork stations where the students can be engaged in inquiry learning.
Better career pathways to support and retain teachers in the profession
The proposed actions will improve career pathways, including through streamlining the process for Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher (HALT) accreditation, and providing better professional support for teachers to retain them in the profession.
