NDRI Targeted Discussion

On this page:

The activities of the National Digital Research Infrastructure (NDRI) Working Group includes a blend of open and targeted consultation on advancing the objectives of the NDRI Investment Plan (IP).

The NDRI Working Group are hosting a series of targeted discussions, which broadly align with the 6 outcomes described in the NDRI Strategy. These will be followed by an open consultation phase, leading to the development of an initial draft NDRI IP.

The purpose of these discussions is to have an in-depth conversation on each topic with a cross-section of Australia's NDRI users and community, identifying priority needs and how strategic investments across these areas could best support Australia's research sector. The focus will be on what new or updated research infrastructure is necessary to implement the vision for Australia's NDRI system, as set out in the NDRI Strategy.

Invitees were asked to actively participate in these discussions with a focus on national priorities whilst acknowledging the diverse perspectives in attendance.

Importantly, each discussion clearly stipulated that it was not an opportunity to 'pitch' for specific NDRI providers, but to discuss what infrastructure would best support the national need.

All stakeholders, including those not in attendance, will be given the opportunity to provide their input as part of an open consultation process later in 2024. Summaries from each targeted discussion will also be made publicly available.

The targeted discussion topics are listed below and are linked to the questions asked by the NDRI Working Group, which served as the respective agendas, alongside summaries of each topic’s discussions.
