It's the paperwork that is killing teachers. They spend more time filling in data than teaching and often it's for nothing other than paper pushers in head office. Behaviour management is the other serious issue. We are not going to improve results until parents are held more accountable.

The actions proposed will be effective in increasing the number of students entering ITE, number of students completing ITE and the number of teachers staying in and/or returning to the profession.

The proposed actions will improve career pathways, including through streamlining the process for Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher (HALT) accreditation, and providing better professional support for teachers to retain them in the profession.

Professional development is extremely important. Again teachers need time to do it. Hard to do in regional areas. More PRTS are needed in country areas to release teachers to attend. TRB has become a joke. The amount of work we need to do to register is ridiculous and unnecessary.
