The actions proposed will be effective in increasing the number of students entering ITE, number of students completing ITE and the number of teachers staying in and/or returning to the profession.

Increasing the number of entries with no regard to the quality and suitability of the candidate will only result in higher attrition rates. School visits/pracs should be included in the first year of a teaching degree.

Currently teachers are overloaded with emails, surveys and meetings. Much of this time is ineffective in improving the quality of teaching. An engaged classroom is a less disruptive classroom. Give teachers the time to focus on what they need to do rather than admin work.
