The actions proposed recognise the value teachers bring to students, communities and the economy.

Would you like to provide feedback about these actions?
1: A focus is okay but to elevate the profession, ALL teachers need to be under the spotlight.
2-3: The awards and such will do little to elevate the profession with community members that don't value the profession.
4: Increasing numbers of HALT won't do much in elevating the profession outside of the education profession, which is more of the issue

The proposed actions will improve career pathways, including through streamlining the process for Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher (HALT) accreditation, and providing better professional support for teachers to retain them in the profession.
