It’s so simple. Pay. Teachers. More. Teaching requires extreme skill and expertise. The pay should be competitive with professions which require similar levels of decision making, skill, responsibility and pressure. Government schools should be funded enough to be able to afford experienced teachers. ALL teachers should receive a pay rise that are above the cpi increases so that they are actually real pay raises. Treat us like the experts that we are. People are getting really angry about all the performative stuff governments continue to offer- we see right through it. Better pay=better teachers. Better funding=better professional development opportunities. Thanks for your consideration.
