I am an overseas trained teacher ( India) and I have great scientific knowledge and skills in the area of science but still in Australia I consider not a skilled person.
I have teacher registration with NESA. Why we should complicating things with teacher registration and skill assessment . Why don’t you consider the same criteria for getting registration and skill assessment. Years of working experience in teaching in Australian schools and still I am not eligible with AITSL criterias. Struggling to get visa to stay here and serve the kids. Teachers are in high demand but nobody is doing anything for us to stay with this job. We are struggling a lot and lot without proper visa in staying. If I would have done any other profession such as nursing or IT I will be settled in Australia earlier. This is frustrating.
Why can’t AITSL consider those who hold teacher Registrations in different states and provide a positive skill assessment.
I am valued and I will get permanent residency anywhere in the world except Australia. New Zealand is welcoming teachers. 2 years study in Australia or 7 in IELTS is enough for getting positive assessment and registration in New Zealand and that will lead to Permanent residency.
In india, there were only 30 days of teaching practice till 2012. So how can we provide 45 days of teaching practice. We can’t go past and do anything with our previous courses. Why can’t you make a 3 months bridging course and consider for eligibility.
It’s frustrating and devalued by the government. Please do a positive shift in finding teachers in Australia.

You should make the entry criteria for this course flexible for international students. Now I am looking for master of teaching admission but i need 7,7, 8,8 in Ielts which is a hard score to attain as a second language speaker. I agree language is important but it doesn’t mean who have not scored the above scores are not eligible for studies in teaching.
What is the purpose of a course? Through the completion of a particular course people are achieving new skills and knowledge. Please make necessary change for welcoming people from different parts of the world to do a teaching course.
