Applications are open for Round 2 of the Schools Upgrade Fund (the Fund). $215.8 million is available to support government schools meet the cost of important infrastructure projects, including new classrooms, outdoor learning spaces or other major refurbishments or upgrades.
Applications are open from 31 October 2023 to 29 February 2024. All government schools across Australia can now apply for funding for capital projects of at least $250,000 in value.
Schools are encouraged to engage as early as possible with their state or territory department of education on project proposals and must seek their support before submitting an application. After the EOI period has closed, state and territory authorities will review and assess all applications. Priority will be given to schools experiencing the greatest disadvantage.
Government schools that received funding through Round 1 of the Schools Upgrade Fund – the Targeted Round or the Open Round – are eligible to apply for funding under Round 2.
Successful projects for Round 2 are expected to be announced from mid-April 2024.
