Feedback
University degrees that are delivered by academics that have not spent time in classrooms, do not give education students a realistic experience. Many of my most valuable lessons were learnt during tutorials tjat were delivered by experienced teachers amd in a school setting. More practical skills, the how to teach, can't be taught at university so therefore I recommend that preservice teachers are given more time in school environments for longer, which to my understanding is the concept of this review. Most experienced senior teachers would be more than happy to take on a preservice teacher for a semester or year as opposed to the few weeks they currently get. It is difficult to mentor beginning teachers when mentors are not given non-contact to make observations and support them.
It is also difficult when teachers are caught up with behaviours that are not supported by admin or parents. There are more complicant cases coming to schools with very little support to teachers thus we see beginning teachers suffering from burn out sooner than in previous years.
