The actions proposed recognise the value teachers bring to students, communities and the economy.

Somewhat agree

Would you like to provide feedback about these actions?

The role Early Childhood Teacher plays is often unvalued compared to school teachers while ECT role is bachelor qualified as well.

Early Childhood Teachers are not remunerated as school teachers (lower pay, no school holiday, etc). Considering the demand of physical work involved, retaining ECT, especially experienced ones, still has such a long way to go.

The actions proposed will improve retention and free up teachers to focus on teaching and collaboration.

All the proposals in the draft plan is for school teachers. How about teachers in early childhood? How can we expect public’s respect for Early childhood education while there is no mention from the DET’s perspective?
