Many migrants would like to see some changes in the process of migration. Even after getting a job as a teacher for 1 year, people like me cannot apply for permanent residency just because we cannot get the desired score in IELTS. Everybody have different different accent and IELTS does have certain criteria to follow. AITSL asks for the score on one TRF which is another trouble because of constant anxiety and pressure it is not easy to to get all scores upto the mark in one go.
May be AITSl can consider other english test such as PTE which is a but easier than IELTS.
Apart from that Lantite is a massive hurdle. Many of my deserving friends who are already working as a teacher are having difficulty to pass the lantite test.
Making some reforms in these two aspects might ease things a bit for the ones who see Australia as their home
