Elevating the profession
The actions proposed recognise the value teachers bring to students, communities and the economy.
Somewhat disagree
Would you like to provide feedback about these actions?
The proposed actions do nothing to address the very real reasons that teachers are leaving the profession in droves. We need to focus on retaining exisiting talent in the profession by listening to what current teachers actually need. They need FAR more classroom support staff and quicker processing times for assessments for students with neuro divergence. They need more speech pathologist and occupational therapists to help support students with specific needs. They need more time to plan. They need higher wages.
Improving teacher supply
The actions proposed will be effective in increasing the number of students entering ITE, number of students completing ITE and the number of teachers staying in and/or returning to the profession.
