Australia’s National Statement of Commitment to Transform Education

The Department of Education sought stakeholder views on Australia’s National Statement of Commitment to Transform Education, as part of a national consultation on Australia’s progress against the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4).

SDG 4 aims to: “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all”.

This consultation process was a key component of Australia’s preparation for the global Transforming Education Summit (TES), held in New York on 19 September 2022.

Through the consultation, stakeholders from across Australia’s education sector helped shape Australia’s National Statement of Commitment to Transform Education, which was submitted in advance of the TES. Australia’s National Statement, along with the National Statements of other countries, has been published on the TES website and can be accessed at Australia's National Statement of Commitment to Transform Education.
