Geccko, a free online learning platform for the early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector, has marked one year since its launch.
The learning platform was launched on 15 December 2023 and has become a go-to resource for providers, with more than 6,000 user registrations and over 12,000 course completions.
Geccko is designed to help ECEC providers comply with their obligations under Family Assistance Law (FAL). FAL sets the rules for administering the Child Care Subsidy (CCS).
Registered users can:
- login using their tablet, laptop, or mobile phone
- access a range of self-paced courses about FAL
- download course certificates upon completion.
Geccko provides courses suitable for all staff across all approved care types on key FAL topics.
The courses are receiving great feedback from the sector:
“These courses would be very beneficial to new staff.”
“The learning courses are very user-friendly and easy to complete, and specifically, the knowledge tests are very user friendly and easy too.”
“The information was great, and I am sure I will be applying all new knowledge to my work.”
New courses are regularly added to the platform. Two key courses coming this year include a First Nations Cultural Awareness course and a comprehensive Family Day Care course.
