The Australian and Western Australian governments have signed an agreement to fully fund public schools.
The Australian and Western Australian governments have signed a bilateral agreement to increase funding for public schools in Western Australia to 100 per cent of the Schooling Resource Standard (SRS) by 2026.
As part of this agreement, the Australian Government will provide an estimated additional $785.4 million from 2025 to 2029 for public schools in Western Australia.
The Australian Government will increase its share of funding from 20 per cent to 22.5 per cent of the SRS by 2026, contingent on the Western Australian Government increasing its funding share to at least 77.5 per cent of the SRS by 2026.
This additional funding will drive reforms that benefit all students, with a particular focus on those most in need of additional support across the State.
