New resource for First Nations students with disability and their families

A new resource is available to support First Nations school students with disability and their families. The resource offers practical tips and information about the rights of students with disability under the Disability Standards for Education 2005 (DSE).

The story of Jarrod and his friends, Janaya, Louisa and Tyson, helps students and their families to better understand:

  • the rights of students with disability
  • the obligations of schools to support and protect them, and
  • support services to contact for assistance.

This resource was co-designed by and for young First Nations people with disability, with the help of First Peoples Disability Network Australia and Children and Young People with Disability Australia.

Other co-designed DSE resources to support students with disability are available on our website.
