Moving away from home to study can be challenging, especially for young people in regional and rural areas.
If you are planning to move or have moved to undertake tertiary study this year, you might be eligible for the Tertiary Access Payment.
It’s a one-off payment of up to $5,000 to help eligible students who finished Year 12 last year with the cost of relocating to study.
The Tertiary Access Payment can help students to pay for rent, travel expenses, food, or study supplies.
It helped Jordan to relocate to attend La Trobe University in Melbourne.
“The Tertiary Access Payment provided me with multiple opportunities. It helped me afford my textbooks and it really helped me afford getting into accommodation here at La Trobe University”, Jordan said.
“Applying for the TAP was really easy. If you’re thinking about applying to the Tertiary Access Payment, do it. It costs nothing to apply.”
