Free online professional learning is now available for teachers and other school-based educators.

Teachers can now access a Classroom Management microcredential course funded by the Australian Government under the National Teacher Workforce Action Plan. Developed by the University of Adelaide, the course is available as a free, online professional learning course that can be done at the teacher’s own pace, to fit in around their other commitments.

Registrations for the Classroom Management Microcredential are now open on the University of Adelaide website. The Classroom Management microcredential covers creating a safe and orderly classroom; addressing frequent interruptions to learning; building positive and inclusive practices; and managing escalations in behaviour. The course contains 4 stand-alone modules with 12 hours of content per module.

Two further microcredentials in Explicit Teaching and Teaching Phonics will be rolled out in the coming months.

The Australian Government is making all programs available to teachers and other school-based educators, at no cost, until June 2026.

The new courses are evidenced-based and developed by experts and will help to further empower teachers in the classroom and improve outcomes for their students.

This investment is part of the National Teacher Workforce Action Plan and complements the Government’s Engaged Classrooms initiative, which has funded the Australian Education Research Organisation to develop free classroom management resources for teachers.
