The results from the 2022 student experience and international student experience surveys have been released.
The results show that the majority of domestic and international students are satisfied with their experiences studying in Australia, and that student experience has been improving since the start of the COVID-10 pandemic in 2020.
The Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) is a suite of government-endorsed surveys for higher education across the student lifecycle. All 42 Australian universities
99 non-university higher education providers take part in the surveys.
The surveys are a valuable source of information for higher education institutions and government to improve teaching and learning outcomes for students. They are the only comprehensive surveys of current higher education students in Australia.
Key findings include:
- The rating international students gave to the quality of their entire educational experience rose 7 per cent to 74 per cent.
- Domestic students rated the quality of their entire educational experience at 76 per cent.
- 94 per cent of international undergraduate students rated their overall living experience in Australia positively.
- International students rated personal safety and security as the main reason for studying in Australia.
