Applications are now open for the Australia India 'Unnati' Research Collaboration Grants. These grants are intended to deepen and expand research collaboration between Australia and India.
Grants are available to Australian mid-level and senior researchers working in select research fields identified as mutual priorities by the Australian and Indian governments. Funded by the department and administered by the Australia India Institute, 12 grants of $30,000 each are available. Three grants are allocated for each theme:
- Food, soil, and water security
- The future of healthcare
- Environmental change and energy frontiers
- Digital humanities and intelligent futures.
The grants are anchored on the principle of ‘unnati’, striving to advance the impact and outcomes of research collaboration.
Grants are open to Australian researchers employed in an academic position at an Australian campus of an Australian higher education institutions who are either already undertaking a joint project or are interested in collaborating with an eligible Indian partner.
CEO of the Australia India Institute, the Hon Lisa Singh, says the grants aim to deepen research collaboration.
“Research collaboration between Australia and India extends back many decades and is supported by several bilateral agreements and funding initiatives,” she said.
“The Unnati Grants will deepen collaboration, while supporting research projects to achieve greater impact and promote the exchange of knowledge and expertise”.
