Destination Australia funds eligible tertiary education providers to offer scholarships to domestic and international students to study and live in regional Australia.

Have you thought about studying in regional Australia? Regional Australia is known for its welcoming communities, access to the natural environment and more relaxed lifestyle.

The Destination Australia Program offers students from Australia and overseas the opportunity to undertake high quality education, training and research, and to experience life in regional and remote Australia.

The program funds eligible tertiary education providers to offer scholarships of up to $15,000 per student, per year, to assist with the cost of living and studying in regional Australia.

Recently, 27 higher education providers were approved to offer scholarships under Round 4. Round 4 will focus on providing more opportunities for students to enrol in areas of identified skills shortages.

Since launching in 2020, the program has supported more than 1800 scholarship recipients.

One of those students is Alexiane Beck who received a scholarship through SuniTAFE in Mildura. Alex completed her studies at SuniTAFE in December 2022 and this year she commenced a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) at La Trobe University’s Bendigo campus via their pathway program agreement.

Both domestic and international students are encouraged to apply directly through an approved education provider.
