Reports on financial assistance for schools

The Australian Education Act 2013 and former Schools Assistance Act 2008 requires the Minister for Education and Training to produce an annual report (known as the Green Report) with respect to the payments authorised under each Act to be presented to both Houses of Parliament for a given year.

The report provides a detailed breakdown of expenditure for a year from funds appropriated by each Act and a brief description of how funding was allocated in line with the agreed objective and outcomes for schooling.

Funding is provided by the Australian Government as part of its contribution to the national effort for Australian schooling and the programs funded represent an integrated approach by the Government to support the provision of primary and secondary education.
