Parents, families and carers are a child’s first and most important teachers. The Australian Government has compiled some useful information to assist parents to better engage with their child’s learning. This page provides information about parent engagement in eductaion and what parents can do to support their child’s learning.

Learning Potential is a free app for parents, families and carers packed with useful tips and inspiring ways you can be more involved in your child’s learning.

Researchers around the world agree that when parents and carers are involved in their children’s learning, it can have very positive impacts on education outcomes. 

Learning Potential is designed to help you to be part of your child’s learning and make the most of the time you spend together, from the high chair to high school.

The upgraded app includes a range of new features and improved functionality, including a search function and recommended articles. Content can be tailored to your child’s age, and filtered according to topic, making it easier for you to find the information you need to help your child reach their learning potential!

Just in time for the school holidays, on Monday 12 December 2016, Minister Birmingham announced a major upgrade to the Australian Government’s Learning Potential mobile app, a great initiative to encourage parents to get more involved in their children’s education.
