News

The eight winners and eight runners-up of the 2015 Simpson Prize have been announced at a special ceremony in Parliament House.

The national history contest on the ANZAC tradition for Year 9-10 students attracted a record 2296 entries this year, more than double the number of entries for the 2014 prize.

The winners will travel to Gallipoli in April 2015 for the ANZAC Centenary commemorations.

Students submitted essays or audio visual presentations on the question: To what extent did Australians enlist in 1914 to defend the ‘Mother Country’?
